Tim Appelbaum

Owner. Yogi. Veteran. Teacher

I am from Saint Louis, MO. I found yoga, like many people, to fix physical injuries from hockey, while in high school. Shortly thereafter, I started to dive deep and enjoy the mindfulness and other benefits of yoga. My practice has carried me through my time in the infantry Marines, being an elementary and early childhood educator, personal training, cage fighting, and so much more. I received my 200 hour from Prana Yoga under Anna Welsh and have taught at Lifetime Fitness, YMCA, Detox Yoga Studios, and Revive Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. To me, yoga is a gift. A gift that we have been given in order to live our best lives on Earth. Yoga has philosophy, a physical practice, breathing to affect the nervous system/mental health, and can lead to amazing benefits. I look forward to seeing you on the mat, and sharing a bit of myself while learning so much from you!

Kayla Schumacher

Kayla is a 200 hour certified yoga instructor. After years of working out in daily crossfit and weightlifting style classes, Kayla knew she needed a change. Those high-impact exercises left her in chronic pain with daily headaches from Advanced Bone Degeneration in both TMJ joints. Kayla found yoga first out of this necessity. She quickly realized that her mind and soul benefit greatly form a consistent practice. Kayla’s yoga philosophy is, “For me, the beauty of yoga is turning inward when our society so often makes us believe happiness will be found from the outside world. The physical practice, breathwork, and meditation all play a part in the personal growth each of us can find from yoga.” Finally, the most special and unexpected part of Kayla’s yoga journey is the amazing and kind humans she has met.

Angel Garcia

Yoga for me began as an at home physical practice mixed with mindful thinking and meditation. In 2020 I went to my first hot class and really enjoyed it but had other things going on in my life that did not allow me to become fully conscious of the practice. In the beginning it was for physical exercise but after bringing my full awareness into the practice I began to realize that yoga teaches you how to live your everyday life. I decided I would like to further my knowledge and bring it into other people’s lives by becoming certified to teach. I enrolled in the 200hr YTT program in May of 2022. During the training, I noticed the revitalization of myself and others. I graduated in February of 2023 and shortly after I received my first teaching job at Fox Company Yoga. I will bring strength and mindfulness to each class and I plan to help others bring their mind, body, and spirituality all into unity!

Ann Fosheim

Ann has been practicing Bikram yoga for over 25 year as a way to compliment distance running. Ann loves to practice and learn about all types of yoga which lead to her training at Detox Yoga in May of 2022. Throughout the years of consistent yoga practice and YTT, yoga has given Ann a personal practice of gratitude, peace, and positivity.

When not teaching or practicing yoga, Ann is married to her husband Rob and the proud Mom of 3 amazing grown children: Nick, Kristin, and Allie. Ann loves teaching a puts a ton of love and care into every single class. She continues to deepen her practice and knowledge of yoga with the goal of continuing to share this amazing practice. She looks forward to seeing you all on the mat soon!

Sydney Farr

Sydney’s yoga journey started out a little different than others. The first yoga class she ever took she did not like… At the time she was running, biking, lifting, and yoga was too slow. Then one day she hit a brick wall and stopped working out completely. When she was ready to move again, she was in a different stage of life. Pushing herself to exhaustion didn’t make her happy anymore. She was looking for something more than just movement, rather needing to just rest her mind.

After working at another studio for 3 years, and only having done yoga a few times, she took the plunge and started her 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training. She graduated in 2019 and has been teaching since. Yoga provided the outlet she needed to rest and restore the body and the mind. This is what drew her to the practice and why she continues to teach. Every class focuses on mindfulness, connecting breath to movement, and the reason behind it. Sydney is an amazing teacher, and she spends most of her time off the mat offering help with alignment, and helping everyone listen to their bodies. Her classes are not just physically challenging, but also mentally rewarding. Come and add some mindfulness to your yoga!!!
