OUR TEAM

  • Tim Appelbaum

    Owner. Yogi. Veteran. Teacher

I am from Saint Louis, MO. I found yoga, like many people, to fix physical injuries from hockey, while in high school. Shortly thereafter, I started to dive deep and enjoy the mindfulness and other benefits of yoga. My practice has carried me through my time in the infantry Marines, being an elementary and early childhood educator, personal training, cage fighting, and so much more. I received my 200 hour from Prana Yoga under Anna Welsh and have taught at Lifetime Fitness, YMCA, Detox Yoga Studios, and Revive Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. To me, yoga is a gift. A gift that we have been given in order to live our best lives on Earth. Yoga has philosophy, a physical practice, breathing to affect the nervous system/mental health, and can lead to amazing benefits. I look forward to seeing you on the mat, and sharing a bit of myself while learning so much from you!

  • Sydney Farr

    500-Hour Certified Yoga Instructor

Sydney’s yoga journey started out a little different than others. The first yoga class she ever took she did not like… At the time she was running, biking, lifting, and yoga was too slow. Then one day she hit a brick wall and stopped working out completely. When she was ready to move again, she was in a different stage of life. Pushing herself to exhaustion didn’t make her happy anymore. She was looking for something more than just movement, rather needing to just rest her mind.

After working at another studio for 3 years, and only having done yoga a few times, she took the plunge and started her 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training. She graduated in 2019 and has been teaching since. Yoga provided the outlet she needed to rest and restore the body and the mind. This is what drew her to the practice and why she continues to teach. Every class focuses on mindfulness, connecting breath to movement, and the reason behind it. Sydney is an amazing teacher, and she spends most of her time off the mat offering help with alignment, and helping everyone listen to their bodies. Her classes are not just physically challenging, but also mentally rewarding. Come and add some mindfulness to your yoga!!!

  • Sonni Kolasinac

    200-Hour Certified Yoga Instructor

Sonni was hesitant to even begin yoga due to thinking she wasn't "flexible enough" and at the time she was only seeking out high intensity activities. Then one day during a rock climbing session a yoga teacher invited her to come to a yoga class and promised it would help with her climbing. Sonni figured "why not" and the next thing she knew being on her mat was one of the few places she could be herself, clear her mind, and realign. She earned her 200-hour teacher training in 2014 at an immersive program at Rishikesh YogPeeth and believes that yoga is for everyone and all bodies. It's more than a physical practice- yoga is healing. Sonni enjoys connecting with people over all forms of yoga and has a passion for sharing Hatha, Vinyasa, and Yin.

  • Debbie Steiger

    200 Hour Certified Yoga Teacher

I found a consistent yoga practice at the YMCA not long after the youngest of my five kids was born.  I wanted to bring balance to my running and strength training workouts.  I quickly discovered the benefits of mindfulness and stress relief as well.  Over the years it has become so much more. It is the one place where I can be completely present and tap into the mind body connection.  I received my first 200 hour certification from Wildwood Yoga/Joy of Yoga in 2017 and taught classes at both Wildwood Yoga and the YMCA.  I took some time off from teaching yoga when I went back to work in education but recently received my second 200 hour certification from Detox Yoga Studios.  I am so grateful to be a part of this community and look forward to meeting you on your mat!
